Acuitas Communications is a public affairs and corporate comms agency that specialises in EU public affairs and public relations. Acuitas currently has an opening for a new joiner with exceptional skills to join our multi-lingual Brussels-based team in an exciting, fast-paced environment, as part of Acuitas’ global network of offices. Interviews likely to start soon, and it is possible that an appointment could be made before the closing date.

The deadline to apply is 3 January 2022 – but the agency reserves the right to appoint sooner depending on the quality of applications received.

Key tasks include:

  • Supporting key clients in the construction and energy sectors, as well as others in financial services, industry, and biopharmaceuticals, among others;
  • Proactive intelligence gathering and monitoring on key EU developments;
  • Policy building and advocacy;
  • Media engagement;
  • Representing clients in external fora, including EU institutional and stakeholder events;
  • Preparing presentations for clients and new business prospects.

Profile:

  • Excellent analytical, administrative, and social skills, and strong understanding of EU institutional processes;
  • Experience in the European Parliament or Commission would be advantageous;
  • Strong policy and/or media handling interests;
  • Keen to build a career in public affairs and corporate communications;
  • Experience in sectors including construction, infrastructure, and energy would be particularly valuable.

Requirements:

  • Fluent written and spoken English and French (knowledge of another European language, particularly German, would be an advantage);
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and manage a variety of stakeholders;
  • Able to synthesise EU proposals and to assess their potential business impact;
  • Understands the professional dynamics of the client-consultant relationship;
  • Education: university graduate level or higher;
  • Experience: political or media experience and work in one of the principal EU institutions; Ideally with a minimum of one year in consultancy, trade association, or in-house corporate role;
  • Strong familiarity with social media channels, online publishing tools, and Microsoft Office.
