Job Description

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for drawing up, implementing, auditing and continuously improving the quality system in the context of product quality, food safety, food defense, food fraud and other certification standards.

You will be responsible for directing the quality team with responsibilities including QC, QA, regulatory, specification management, technical customer questionnaires, master data etc.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out and implementing the quality policy
  • Translating strategic plan into concrete quality objectives and priorities
  • Liaising with knowledge centers and consultants, customers and suppliers
  • Food Defense plan (FSMA – Qualified Individual)
  • Food Safety culture plan
  • Conduct annual management verifications
  • Follow up and implementation of changes in standards and legislation
  • Setting up new quality standards where relevant
  • Management of change coordinator (MOC-Co)
  • Final decision in HOLD, REJECT & RELEASE SOL
Leading the quality service
  • Managing and prioritizing the quality team
  • Evaluate and develop quality team
  • Manage department related costs
  • Follow up on specification management (RMs, PIFs, SPECs,...)
  • Responsible for approval of the layout and changes of MMR and BMR SOL
HACCP team leader
  • Responsible for building and managing GMP and HACCP plans
  • Member of HACCP team and responsible for food safety and necessary actions in case of recall
  • Member of crisis team
  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) QAS
Support the process of continuous improvement
  • Coordinating and performing Internal audits
  • Applying relevant tools
  • Initiating and following up improvement projects
  • Responsible for quality training of the various QAS departments
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in food technology with at least 5 years’ experience in a quality function in the food industry
  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial position
  • Knowledge of BRC and GFSI standards, HACCP standard
  • PCQI (by training or based on experience)
  • Quality management (compliance and food safety, specification, standards and certification, quality control of end product and raw materials, incident and complaint management)
  • Project management (improvement projects, new products and processes)
  • Affinity with electronic systems
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (pareto analysis, KPIs, Visual Management, SPC, management by walking around) and LEAN principles (5S, problem solving and Ishikawa diagram, Kaizen, 5Ws)
  • Languages: Required: Dutch, English, Interesting: French, German
  • Flexible hours and availability
  • Occasional travel
