Job DescriptionAs a Senior Process Engineer Europe, your responsibility is to maintain, together with the team, process technology excellence throughout European facilities and ensure a strong technical foundation to enable:

• Safe, efficient and reliable production processes that meets our customer needs and our performance requirements.
• Quick and accurate support to operations to meet business and customer needs.
• Effective execution of CAPEX and process changes.
• Continuous improvement in process safety & costs, product quality and capacity utilization.

Your responsibilities

• Functionality Notes / P&ID / PFD Safety, quality, costs assessment and improvement initiatives.

• Benchmarking Identification of best available technologies.

Your main tasks as a Senior Process Engineer Europe

• Operational & Technical Excellence
• You Participate in the definition of operational and technical standards and practices and ensure those are followed throughout the European Plants.
• You oversee data management and process monitoring review of processes.
• You participate in the process of KPI’s & benchmark definition, ensure their follow-up and the derives process related strategies under the lead of the Process Manager Europe.
• You evaluate process engineers, including production/process engineers at plant level have the necessary education, knowledge and skills to perform their jobs and meet company standards.
• You participate in the individual training to acquire the required expertise and to stay up to date with process technology evolutions.
• You facilitate cross fertilization process within Europe.
• You act as liaison between Group Process Technical team and plant process engineers.
• Continuous improvement
• You act as a support to identify and implement the improvements in order to optimize production efficiency, costs, quality and capacity utilization.
• You foster continuous improvement of technical knowledge in lime production process.
• Business Support
• You provide support in the industrialization of new products and in the design of new installations.
• You perform various tests which are out of the regular plant operations (ex. new fuels injection, production capacity decreases in kilns, new process cycle…).
• You act as Ad hoc support to plant operations and support services (CAPEX, EIA, etc.).
• You address recurrent issues affecting operations to identify and implement long term solutions.

Your profileBasic Requirements

• Master Engineer electricity, mechanics or chemistry.
• 5-10 years’ experience in similar position (process/production) in lime, cement or similar industry.
• English: written & spoken fluently.
• Other foreign languages are a plus (from Carmeuse locations inside Europe).
• Valid driving license.
• Willing to travel mostly inside Europe including Turkey (min. 30%).
• You are based in Louvain-La-Neuve.

The teamDiscover who you will work with:The Technical Department Europe is composed by a Process Sub-Department and an Automation Sub-Department plus several expertise branches in order to support the business (Fuel, Refractory, Mechanical Design, Green Energy & Energy Savings). The team is composed by 29 engineers located into 5 different countries.The Director of the department is Alecsandru Barbulescu ( Dan Alecsandru Barbulescu | LinkedIn ) . Alecsandru is our Technical Director for Europe. He has a long track in Carmeuse and has therefor an extensive knowledge of the business and Carmeuse. Over the last 18 years he fulfilled different roles in production, process, product development, design, refractories & engineering. The geology background offers a complete view on the business needs.He is open minded and offer a large autonomy to the team members. On the other had he likes to train and coach newcomers / young engineers / students. He is one of our senior technical trainers for our group yearly Engineers Academy.He is a manager inviting permanently the team to suggest ideas and improvements. He is oriented towards the future and technological developments . Alecsandru is very goal oriented and has a pragmatic regard concerning effort / task ratio. He is a very dynamic person.
